New technology requires new tools, and teachers working on-line need facilities which are just not available in a standard web browser or word-processor. Students submit their work as word-processor documents via email, and teachers need to be able to mark and return these documents as quickly and easily as they can mark work submitted on paper. Markin is a smart and reliable program which runs on the teacher's computer. It can import a student's text for marking by pasting from the clipboard, or directly from an RTF or text file. Once the text has been imported, Markin provides all the tools a teacher needs to mark and annotate the text.
