Lord of The Chess is a free classic game of chess, which you can play against the computer or another human player. It has two skill levels, novice and expert (with 1 to 5 depth), a 2D interface, and it's not very smart, but you can still play a quick game of chess when you feel like it.
Playing against another human is awkward, because you can't play this over a network, so you have to share the mouse with your opponent. You can choose which side to play, but if you choose black, you would see the table upside down, and you may not like that. You can set the skill level, and I recommend that you always play at expert level, because you may always win. You can undo last move if you did a mistake, or you can undo all moves. Minimizing the game window, and restoring it again, may cause the game not to work. You can also save an unfinished game and resume it later, and during the play the last move is indicated by a black line.
