Even though MAME is free, help is available if you look in the right places.
First: Read the documents bundled with MAME. Many questions are answered there!
Next: Check the massive Frequently Asked Questions page.
If you still have problems:
(1) Check the MAME Message Board. You may find that someone else has already asked about your problem. Otherwise, you can post a new message.
(2) Try the same in any number of MAME- and emulation-oriented newsgroups.
(3) See the extensive MAME-related information at MAMEWorld.
(4) Post a message on the FAQ forum. (Replies depend on available time, and can't be guaranteed.)
In any case, do NOT mail the MAME developers about non-development problems. Please understand that this is free software for experienced (and adventurous) users. The MAME team does not have the resources to provide individual user support.
If you think you have found a bug, report it to the MAME Testing Project.
For questions or comments actually related to MAME development, see MAME.TXT (distributed with MAME) for contact info.
