ACCELERATE-IT is a set of Windows 95/98 speed and optimization programs designed to squeeze performance out of PC's.
Accelerate-It's QuickStart saves you hours a week by reducing program startup time and by removing the frequent defragmenting requirement of the Windows 98/Intel Application Launch Accelerator.
Accelerate-It's QuickDisk saves you time when copying, moving, and deleting files on ZIP, JAZ and other removable disks.
Accelerate-It's FAT32DC helps you get more usable space on JAZ and other removable disk drives with FAT32 optimization.
FAT32DC - brings the disk space and performance optimization capabilities of FAT32 to both fixed and removable drives. FAT32DC provides a new tab on the disk properties sheet that allows you to easily convert your removable disks and fixed disks from FAT16 to FAT32. Conversion to FAT32 can result in a considerable increase of usable disk space. On a 2GB Jaz drive, for example, typically over 300MB of usable space can be reclaimed by converting from FAT16 to FAT32. FAT32DC also incorporates a preview mode, which unlike the FAT32 converter supplied with Windows 98, shows you how much space you will reclaim by converting to FAT32 BEFORE you make the conversion.
QuickDisk - accelerates the copying, moving, and deleting of files on removable drives. Users who frequently copy, move, or delete large numbers of files on ZIP, JAZ or other removable drives know how slow these operations can be. Windows 95 users see even slower operation than Windows 98 users as Windows 98 offers improved performance for removable disks. Now anyone can get faster performance with their removable disks simply by using QuickDisk. Internal tests performed by Future Systems Solutions show performance increases in some operations by as much as 1200% when running on Windows 95. Test results are available from the link below.
QuickStart - reduces the time it takes to startup an application. Windows 95 users are without the Launch Accelerator found in Windows 98 - and Windows 98 users must defragment their drives after every program installation AND on a regular basis even without installing new programs to get the benefit of faster application launching. QuickStart overcomes both of these shortcomings. Windows 95 users get the benefit of launch acceleration without upgrading to Windows 98, and Windows 98 users benefit without the hours of defragmenting every time they install a new application or create a number of new files. QuickStart goes to work immediately and does not require frequent defragmenting for it to work.
